Job summary

The YONA-Sistema Teaching Artist position at Francis Winspear Centre for Music is a part-time salaried contract based in Edmonton, Alberta. The role involves providing daily instrumental instruction to groups of up to 20 students, leading rehearsals and concerts, and supporting students after school.

Contract runs September 2026 to June 2027 with renewal possible. Evening and after-school hours apply, with planning time and occasional events throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Advanced training in violin and/or viola.
• Post-secondary education in music performance or education preferred.
• Experience teaching groups of children.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily instrumental music instruction to groups of up to 20 students.
• Lead students in rehearsals and concerts.
• Assist students with academic work and supervise breaks and snack times.
• Collaborate with site teams across all YONA sites to support students.
• Support strategic goals of the YONA program and participate in events.
