Job summary

Algonquin College in Ottawa is seeking a Student Program Assistant within ICT Systems & Networking to provide support to students across programs in the Faculty of ICT-SSN. This on-site role is paid at Payband 6- Technician B and involves coordinating one-on-one or small group sessions.

The ideal candidate has a two-year diploma in computer systems, programming, or a related IT field, is bilingual in English and French, and has at least two years of ICT experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) year diploma or equivalent in Computer Systems Technician, Computer Programming, or related IT field.
  • Bilingualism – English and French (spoken and written) preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in various ICT fields.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Demonstration of ability to support or impart knowledge of the material to support students.

Responsibilities

  • Supports students as required (could include) one on one or group support in programs within the Faculty of ICT-SSN.
  • Provide workshops to students to enhance their learning.
  • Supports Faculty in troubleshoot issues and applied learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Chair, Information and Communications Technology – SSN, the Student Program Assistant provides support to students in various subjects.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Supports students as required (could include) one on one or group support in programs within the Faculty of ICT-SSN;
  • Provide workshops to students to enhance their learning;
  • Supports Faculty in troubleshoot issues and applied learning;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Please note these positions are dedicated to the Algonquin College CyberCom training program.

This position requires on-site work at Algonquin College’s Woodroffe (Ottawa) Campus.
