Job summary

BCAA is seeking a Service Advisor in Burnaby to assist members with insurance products and memberships. You’ll promote travel and auto insurance, answer inquiries, and guide customers to appropriate coverage choices.

This role emphasizes strong communication and a commitment to customer satisfaction within a busy contact centre. Initial training is full-time (35 hours/week) with a transition to part-time schedules.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in a sales and service environment.
• Level1 Insurance license or commitment to secure within 45 days.
• Completion of Autoplan Essentials (or commitment to complete within three months).
• Limited history of Errors & Omissions and in good standing with the Insurance Council of BC.
• Comfortable using MS Office.

• Collaborate with BCAA Support Teams and Underwriting to recommend the right coverage.

Position

We’re currently hiring a Part‑Time Service Advisor to join our Member Contact Centre team at our Burnaby Head Office.

Training Commitment

To set you up for success, the initial training period is full‑time (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday. Upon successful completion of training, team members will transition into one of the part‑time schedules outlined below.

• Option1 Tuesday: 9:30AM–1:30PM, Wednesday: 9:30AM–1:30PM, Thursday: 9:30AM–1:30PM, Friday: 9:30AM–1:30PM, Saturday: 9:30AM–2:30PM, Sunday&Monday: Off
• Option2 Monday: 12:30PM–5:30PM, Tuesday: 1:30PM–5:30PM, Wednesday: 1:30PM–5:30PM, Thursday: 1:30PM–5:30PM, Friday: 1:30PM–5:30PM, Saturday&Sunday: Off
• Option3 Monday: 10:00AM–5:30PM*, Tuesday: 10:00AM–5:30PM*, Saturday: 9:45AM–5:15PM*, Wednesday, Thursday&Friday: Off* Includes a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break. Please note that schedules are subject to change based on business needs.

As a Service Advisor in our Member Contact Centre, you’ll be one of the first voices our customers hear when they’re seeking advice to protect their homes, travel the world, and ensure they’re safe on BC’s roads. You’ll meet their needs by recommending memberships or travel and auto insurance. Being a Service Advisor is your first step towards a rewarding career with BCAA. Typical day

• Work with customers over the phone to promote BCAA insurance products and services to best fit their lives, including new memberships, travel insurance, ICBC and optional auto insurance.
• Collaborate with BCAA Support Teams and Underwriting to recommend the right coverage for our customers.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities to support our customers’ life events and future needs.
• Work together with team members to provide exceptional customer service and meet sales goals.
• Increase your industry knowledge and expertise towards becoming an Insurance Advisor. You’ll participate in BCAA’s training courses, maintain your annual licensing requirements, and keep up to date with the latest products and service offerings in a supportive environment.

What you bring

• At least two years’ experience in asales andservice environment.
• Level1Insurance license (or a commitment to secure your license within your first 45 days). BCAA will provide time and cover the cost.
• Completion ofAutoplanEssentials (or a commitment to complete within your first three months through BCAA.) BCAA will provide time and cover the cost.
• Limited history of Errors&Omissions and in good standing with the Insurance Council of BC.
• Comfortable using technology, including working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Bonus qualifications

• CAIB certification
• Knowledge of ICBC systems
• Ability to speak other languages aside from English.

Compensation

The hourly range for this position is $23.36to$29.20and is determined viajob‑related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to21.5%.
