Job summary

BCAA is hiring a Part-Time Service Advisor for our Burnaby Head Office. It starts with a full-time training period (35 hours/week, Monday to Friday) and then transitions into part-time schedules depending on business needs.

You will help customers with insurance products, memberships, and travel/auto coverage, using a consultative approach to meet their needs and support our community.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a sales and service environment.
• Must have Level 1 Insurance license or commitment to obtain within 45 days.
• Completion of Autoplan Essentials within three months; costs covered by BCAA.
• Limited history of Errors & Omissions and in good standing with the Insurance Council of BC.
• Comfortable using technology including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Promote BCAA insurance products and services to customers over the phone to fit their needs.
• Collaborate with Support Teams and Underwriting to recommend right coverage.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities for customers’ life events and future needs.
• Work with team members to provide exceptional customer service and meet sales goals.
• Participate in BCAA training courses to maintain licensing requirements.

We’re currently hiring a Part-Time Service Advisor to join our Member Contact Centre team at our Burnaby Head Office.

Training Commitment

To set you up for success, the initial training period is full-time (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday. Upon successful completion of training, team members will transition into one of the part-time schedules outlined below.

Available Part-Time Schedules:

Option 1

• Tuesday: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
• Wednesday: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
• Thursday: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
• Friday: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM
• Saturday: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM
• Sunday & Monday: Off

Option 2

• Monday: 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM
• Tuesday: 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM
• Wednesday: 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM
• Thursday: 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM
• Friday: 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM
• Saturday & Sunday: Off

Option 3

• Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM*
• Tuesday: 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM*
• Saturday: 9:45 AM - 5:15 PM*
• Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: Off

*Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

During a typical day, you will:

• Workwith customersover the phone topromote BCAA insurance products and services to best fit their lives, including new memberships, travel insurance, ICBC and optional auto insurance.
• Collaborate with BCAA Support Teams and Underwriting to recommend the right coverage for our customers
• Identifycost-saving opportunities tosupport our customers’ life events and future needs.
• Worktogetherwith team members to provide exceptional customer service andmeet sales goals
• Increase your industry knowledge and expertise towardsbecomingan Insurance Advisor. You’ll participate in BCAA’s training courses, maintainyourannual licensing requirements,and keep up to date with the latest products and service offerings in a supportive environment.

What you bring:

• At least two years’ experience in asales andservice environment
