Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a part-time server to join our dining team at a retirement residence in Canada. You will help set up dining rooms, service meals, and assist with cleanup to create a welcoming mealtime experience for residents and guests.

Experience in food service with seniors is preferred. The role requires good physical stamina and excellent customer service, with shifts ranging from early mornings to late afternoons. VPS screening will be arranged during hire.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
• Current (within 6 months) VPS or be willing to obtain one upon hire

• To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service

We have four openings for part-time Server positions, each with a different shift schedule:

• Server #1: Part-time, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 30 hours bi-weekly

• Server #2: Part-time, 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., 30 hours bi-weekly

• Server #3: Part-time, 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., 40 hours bi-weekly

• Server #4: Part-time, 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., 16 hours bi-weekly

Key Responsibilities:

• To attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in the Residence that have taken place;

• To participate in the Quality Improvement Program;

• To uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in the Company’s Code of Conduct; and

• To complete all other tasks as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:
