Job summary

Riverstone Retirement Communities is seeking a Part Time Activity Assistant for Carlingwood Retirement. The role runs 9am-4pm, 30 hours bi-weekly at 200 Lockhart Ave, Ottawa, ON.

Compensation is $20.94 per hour in a supportive, resident-focused environment that values dignity and joy for seniors. The candidate will plan, animate and evaluate activities, encourage participation, and work closely with the Recreations Manager to maintain high-quality programs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in Leisure with seniors (demonstrated).
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, organization, promotion and evaluation of activities.
• Animate individual and group activities.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities of their choice.
• Assist residents during activity time.
• Keep attendance records of activities.
• Encourage volunteer and family participation in activities.
• Participate in in-service training programs.
• Under supervision, participate in probationary evaluation and yearly reviews.
• Respect and promote Resident Rights and Responsibilities.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of the recreation department.
