Job summary

Riverstone Retirement Communities is seeking a Full Time Activity Assistant for Foxview Retirement in Ottawa, ON. The role focuses on planning, organizing and promoting activities for residents, encouraging participation, and supporting leisure programs.

You will collaborate with the Recreation Manager and a caring team to create engaging experiences for seniors in Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care settings. The schedule is 8:30am-4:30pm; salary $21.85/hour, 75 hours bi-weekly.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience in leisure activities with seniors.
• Demonstrate organizational, leadership and animation skills.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning, organization, promotion and evaluation of activities.
• Animate individual and group activities.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities of their choice.
• Assist residents during activity time.
• Keep attendance records of all activities.
• Encourage volunteer and family involvement in activities.
• Participate in in-service training programs.
• Collaborate with Recreation Manager on probationary evaluation schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

FUNCTIONS:
