Job summary

Securitas Canada Limited in Winnipeg is seeking a part-time overnight Security Guard to protect client sites and assets. This permanent role offers overnight shifts (Friday and Saturday 10 PM–6 AM) with opportunities to pick up additional shifts.

The ideal candidate holds a provincial Security Guard License, First Aid/CPR, and strong customer service skills, with reliable transportation and the ability to patrol and report incidents using standard logs.

Qualifications

• Must have valid provincial Security Guard License.
• Must have valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable means of transportation.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Able to walk, stand, and conduct patrols.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, ensuring security and safety.
• Makes periodic patrols to check protections and fire control equipment.
• Enforces site regulations for personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to the site through the admittance process.
• Patrols site on foot or in vehicle; checks for hazards, violations, and unauthorized persons.
• Protects evidence or scene of incidents.
• Responds to emergencies such as fire, medical, bomb threats, and severe weather.
• Prepares logs and reports as required.
• Provides excellent customer service while minimizing risk.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems and security software.
• Uses computer systems to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
• Specific duties may vary and be documented separately.

SECURITY GUARD – PERMANENT PART‑TIME OVERNIGHT POSITION

Location: Winnipeg

We have the following shifts available immediately: Friday and Saturday 2200 to 0600 (10:00 pm to 6:00 am). Opportunities to pick up additional shifts.

Must have current valid security license, First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, assets, and personnel.
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
• Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.
• Prepares logs and reports as required.
• Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client property and assets.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
• Uses computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
• Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. The employee might not be required to perform all functions listed. Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified, according to business necessity.

Qualifications

• Must have valid provincial Security Guard License.
• Must have valid First Aid and CPR certifications.

• Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
• Basic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.

Job Requirements

• Physical and mental requirements: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly.
• Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
• Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
• Additional physical requirements may include frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable licensing requirements for Security Guards.
