Job summary

County of Elgin is seeking a Part-time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for Terrace Lodge, a 100-bed long-term care home in Malahide, Ontario. The RPN will assist in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care in collaboration with the nursing team.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care, participate in safety protocols and utilize Point Click Care. Two vacancies are available with competitive compensation and benefits per the collective

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse with current Ontario registration.
• Evidence of pharmacology and aseptic technique preparation.
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN.
• Current Standard First Aid with CPR Level HCP or BLS Certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Health & Safety Procedures, Resident Bill of Rights, LTCA 2021, Point Click Care.

Join the County of Elgin as a Part-time RPN at Terrace Lodge! Terrace Lodge is a 100-bed long-term care home in the Township of Malahide. Our home is situated in beautiful Elgin County and features private and semi-private accommodation with 24-hour nursing care. Outdoor areas to relax with family, as well as living and dining areas, are available for resident enjoyment. A host of entertainment and recreational programs, animal-assisted therapy, spiritual care, and exercise programming are available.

Position Title: Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Type: Permanent, Part-time

Compensation: $35.95 – $36.35/hour plus $1/hour wage adjustment effective October 18, 2024 as per collective agreement

About The Role

As a member of the nursing team, and in consultation with the Registered Nurse, you are involved in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care. You will use your clinical skills to ensure that every resident receives the care they need and deserve delivered with quality, compassion, and consistency.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse education
• Provides evidence of Pharmacology and Aseptic Technique preparation
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
