Job summary

Extendicare Canada Inc. is seeking a Temporary Certified Resident Program Aide (Part-Time) for our 150-bed long-term care home in Southwood Lakes, Ontario. The role focuses on implementing resident-centered activities and supports residents with daily living and engagement.

The position involves planning and leading programs, documenting resident care, and collaborating with care teams. Scheduling includes days and afternoons, with every other weekend; competitive compensation and total rewards

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Long Term Care setting is preferred.
• Ability to read and write English and understand instructions is required.
• GPA training would be an asset; empathy and patience are assets.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evaluate individual and group programs to meet residents' physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs.
• Assist with monthly calendar planning and creation.
• Lead large and small group programs, assist residents, set up, and respond to family inquiries.
• Maintain documentation for resident records per department policy including PCC assessments, RAI/MDS, activity progress, and other docs as assigned.
• Participate in committees and care conferences.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.
• Assist with setup for special events and seasonal decorating.
• Attend in-service education programs when required.
• Participate in group community outings with residents twice monthly via Handi Transit.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Resident Program Manager.
