Job summary

Islands West is seeking a self-motivated Quality Control Technician to join our Operations Team. In a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, you will help ensure products are handled properly and meet health and safety standards.

This part-time role requires weekend availability, with responsibilities including GMP monitoring, line checks, material inspections, allergen and pre-shipment checks, and accurate recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and methodical in documentation and processes
• A self-starter, a team player, and a finisher
• Physically capable of carrying up to 20 lbs

Responsibilities

• Perform various inspections including daily operational inspection, room temperature monitoring, metal detection verification, building inspection, and monitor GMPs
• Carry out all line checks to ensure compliance with product and process specifications
• Inspect raw material products and outgoing products, and report any deficiencies
• Perform control point checks, pre-shipment reviews, and allergen checks
• Review and verify production records for completion and accuracy
• Microbial sampling of raw materials, environmental, and finished products
• Adhere to food safety and HACCP Principles
