Job Details

Position Title: Part-Time Professor – Millwright Techniques

Status: Part Time

Hours Per Week: Maximum of 12 hours per week.

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology

Campus/Location: Centre for Skilled Trades and Technology - 110 Carrier Drive

Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employees.

About the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology at Humber:

The Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology (FAST) at Humber College offers a dynamic and innovative learning environment, combining academic theory with hands-on practice in fields such as cybersecurity, engineering, embedded systems, and skilled trades. With cutting-edge facilities, applied research projects, and strong industry connections, FAST prepares students for careers in emerging technologies and complex systems. Faculty members play an integral role in advancing research and developing future leaders in technology and applied sciences.

About The Part Time Professor Role

The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the Millwright Techniques programs at the North campus. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicant will encourage student learning and have a desire to share your technical knowledge; be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. The candidate will be expected to further

develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. This individual will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.
