Co-op is hiring for a meat department role in Alberta. The position involves cutting, trimming and deboning meat to specification, wrapping and labeling products, and answering questions from customers in a courteous, informed manner.

You will maintain clean, safe equipment and assist with stocking and unloading freight. Flexibility for morning/evening shifts and weekends is required, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 18+ with meat cutting experience preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Leadership skills and a positive attitude to customer service.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekdays and weekends.
• Practical knowledge of daily retail operations in a meat or grocery setting.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to handle cool temperatures and perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous meat cutting experience is required; retail experience is an asset.

What you’ll do:

• Cut, trim, debone and prepare standard cuts of meat according to specifications
• Wrap, label and package prepared meats
• Respond to all customer inquiries regarding different cuts, serving sizes and other product related questions in a courteous and well-informed manner
• Ensure all equipment is clean, well maintained and fully operational
• Perform duties in compliance with established health and safety regulations
• Assist other departments as needed, including unloading freight and stocking shelves
• Other duties, as assigned
