Oxford Learning Markham East is seeking a part-time teacher‑tutor to support English and math learning for students in the after-school and evening hours. The role includes teaching up to three students at varying levels, both online and in-person, and following the Oxford Learning methodologies.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or teaching certification, strong English communication, and the ability to guide students through curriculum content with professional, friendly conduct.

Qualifications

Part-Time Junior/Intermediate Teacher

Oxford Learning Markham East is currently seeking part-time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in English and math.

Position Requirements

• Work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) as well as Saturdays (9:00 am – 3:00 pm).
• Commitment for the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.
• In‑person role – must be able to commute to Markham (no relocation package offered).
• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 8 (or equivalent) level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
