Job summary

VulcanX Energy Corp. seeks an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer for a part-time role (15-20 hrs/week) to support FEED through startup of hydrogen production plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Controls, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Sciences.
• P.Eng in Alberta (APEGA) is preferred.
• 5–10 years of oil & gas and chemical process design experience.
• Experience with pressurized systems and high-temperature hydrocarbon pyrolysis is an asset.
• Strong communication and ability to track and report progress.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Develop P&IDs and instrument specifications for design packages.
• Prepare cost estimates and participate in scheduling and procurement.
• Design control panels, IO drawings, and communication networks.
• Program, commission, and startup various control systems.
• Review vendor drawings for compliance with industry standards.
