Job summary

GrizzlyTrek Group Ltd. in Sherwood Park, Alberta, seeks an HPU Commissioning Operator for a 12-month full-time contract, supporting commissioning and startup of the Hydrogen Production Unit at a world-scale net-zero hydrogen complex.

The role is field-based, hands-on, with vendor coordination, equipment energization, testing, and training of the Operations team, ensuring compliance with site safety standards throughout turnover and early operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 5 years hands-on operator experience in hydrogen production units.
• Power Engineer certification, 4th Class or higher.
• Valid safety certifications: CSTS-20, Basic Scaffold Safety, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry and Monitoring, WHMIS, H2S Alive.
• Safety-focused, adaptable, collaborative, and organized.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Construction Complete (CC) and Mechanically Complete (MC) walkdowns.
• Install energy isolations and issue Safety Work Permits (SWPs) as required.
• Execute commissioning and startup procedures for the Hydrogen Production Unit.
• Follow direction from the HPU CSU Coordinator and provide daily progress reports.
• Redline Operations Site Work Instruction Manuals (SWIMs) as systems come online.
• Support and manage vendors and contractors while they are on site, monitoring their progress.
• Troubleshoot equipment and verify system performance against design specifications.
• Share CSU experience, opinions, and knowledge. Mentor less experienced team members.
• Support the training of the permanent Operations personnel.
