Job summary

The Health Care Aide at Gimli Health Centre works under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse to meet residents' personal care needs. This part-time, indefinite-term role requires commitment to compassionate, culturally safe care within a dynamic team.

With shifts scheduled days and evenings, the position operates under the Interlake–Eastern Regional Health Authority and follows the applicable collective agreement wages and policies.

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized Educational Institute.
• Current certification in BCLS.
• Knowledge of activities of daily living and patient handling.
• Ability to work under supervision and in a team.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meeting resident/patient personal needs as per policies.
• Support nursing staff in daily care activities and tasks.
• Maintain a respectful, safe and clean care environment.
