Betel Home Foundation is seeking a Health Care Aide to support residents with personal care and daily living activities. The role collaborates with the nursing team to ensure compassionate, person-centered care in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate has a Grade 10 education and an approved Health Care Aide Course, with on-the-job training provided. Proficiency in English is required and additional languages are an asset.

Position Summary

Directly accountable to the Direction of Resident Care and under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse, the Health Care Aide acts as a member of the health care team and is responsible for performing and assisting with duties related to meeting resident personal needs in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Health Care Aide must be able to function effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment utilizing nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

The position of Health Care Aide functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the mission, vision and values of Betel Home Foundation.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 education and approved Health Care Aide Course.
• Previous experience in a related position is an asset but not essential. On-the-job training is provided.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrates interpersonal skills through clear communication and positive behavior within the Respectful Workplace Policy
