Job summary

Oxford Learning Lawrence Plaza in Toronto is seeking a part-time French Tutor to support students from Grades 1 through 12. The role focuses on French and English instruction within small groups, using Oxford Learning’s curriculum and adapting methods to individual needs.

The candidate should hold a university degree, fluency in French, and prior tutoring or teaching experience. Availability includes weekday evenings and Saturdays, in-person at 3130 Bathurst Street.

Qualifications

• University degree required; OCT not mandatory.
• Fluency in French is mandatory; English proficiency required.
• Teaching or tutoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach students on French, English, and Math in small groups with individualized learning.
• Create an engaging and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet each student’s needs and goals.
• Monitor and communicate student progress with parents and the Education Coordinator.
• Deliver lessons using Oxford Learning’s curriculum.

Position Details:

• Subjects:French and English (French Immersion, Core and French First Language).
• Student Age Group:Grades 1 to8
• Availability Requirements:
  • Mondayand Thurs 3:30/4pm 'til8:00 pm
  • Saturdays 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
• 3 shifts a week. More available as school year is underway
• Location:Oxford Learning Lawrence Plaza (3130 Bathurst Street, Toronto)
  

What You’ll Do:

• Coach students on French, English, and Math in small group settings with a focus on individualized learning.
• Create an engaging and supportive learning environment for students.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet each student’s unique needs and goals.
• Monitor and communicate student progress with parents and the center’s Education Coordinator.
• Use Oxford Learning’s proprietary curriculum to deliver effective and enriching lessons.

  What We’re Looking For:

  • Education:
    • University degree
    • OCT preferred but not necessary
    • Strong academic background inFrench, English, and Math(fluency in French is a must).
  • Experience:
    • Must have previous teaching or tutoring experience
    • Ability to work with students of varying abilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills in bothEnglish and French(oral and written).
    • Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for teaching.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
