Job summary

Oxford Learning Mississauga Central is seeking a part-time high school English tutor to work in our Mississauga centre. The role involves teaching Grade 9–12 content to small groups, following pre-planned lessons, and maintaining student progress notes.

The position is in-person, evenings 4:00pm–8:00pm and Saturday mornings, with a focus on building confidence and academic skills. Applicants should reside near Mississauga.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Experience tutoring Grade 9–12 learners is preferred.
• Teaching certification is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of the Grade 9–12 English curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three students at a time, online and in-person.
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and provide notes after lessons.
• Maintain regular student updates and communicate progress.
• Create a friendly, professional tutoring environment.

Gain valuable teaching experience!Oxford LearningMississauga Centraliscurrently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language and social studies and is passionate about helping others build their skills inthese areas.

Tutor-teachers at Oxford Learningdo nothave to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours: 1-2 evenings per week, Mon-Thur (Mon & Wed OR Tue & Thur 4:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as Saturday mornings(9:00am - 1:00pm). A commitment until the end of the termin June is preferred.Continuing through the summer is even better.Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Grade 9 to Grade 12 curriculum

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at aGrade 9 to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

• Monday to Thursday (Must be available for either Day 1: Mon/Wed or Day 2: Tue/Thurs shift)
