Job summary

Oxford Learning Byron in London, ON is seeking a Part-Time Elementary Teacher/Tutor (math) to work after school with up to three elementary students. All lessons are pre-planned and you will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy.

The role requires evenings, in-person teaching, vulnerable sector screening, and a Bachelor’s degree or similar certification. Strong math skills up to Grade 8 and good English communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong math skills up to Grade 8.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Experience with upper elementary students preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 3 students at a time following Oxford Learning methodologies.
  • Fill in post-lesson notes and daily student communications updates.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner with students and parents.

Job description

Part-Time Elementary Teacher/Tutor (math)

Location: London, Ontario.

Last Day to Apply: August 31, 2026.

Employment Type: Part Time.

Pay: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour.

We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with elementary students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas. Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience!

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not need to plan lessons before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. This role is in-person. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth-year university students with experience will be considered
  • Experience with upper elementary-aged students
  • Strong math skills (up to Grade 8)
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grade Six to Grade 8 curriculum
Experience
  • At least two years of experience teaching/tutoring elementary students
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills, and the ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
  • Strong math skills are required
Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
  • Commitment to the end of June 2026 is required
