Job summary

Oxford Learning London North is seeking a dedicated high school math teacher/tutor to support grades 9–12. You’ll work in-person at the London North location and deliver after-school sessions for up to three students, evenings and occasional Saturdays, following Oxford Learning methodologies.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with strong math skills, reliable transport, and the ability to communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or related certification in a relevant field.
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
  • Teaching certification an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Grades 9-12 math curriculum (Calculus, Algebra, Trigonometry, Vectors).

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
  • Teach online and in-person.
  • Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Fill in post-lesson notes.
  • Complete daily student communication updates.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Position Requirements
  • After‑school and evening hours (4:00pm‑8:00pm) and some Saturdays (10:00am‑3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. You must be reliable.
  • In‑person only. Must be able to commute to this location. Relocation packages are not available.
  • Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
  • Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the London area.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors
Experience
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
