Job summary

Oxford Learning Cambridge Hespeler is seeking a part-time teacher-tutor to help students in English, French and Math. Lessons are pre-planned and students range from JK to grade 9; experience with tutoring is welcome.

Shifts run 4:00 pm–8:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with in-person attendance at our Cambridge location. Applicants must reside in or near Cambridge and have a vulnerable sector screening completed. Training is provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
  • Third-year and above university students will be considered.
  • Working towards a teaching certification is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum.
  • Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different academic levels.
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
  • Filling in post-lesson notes and monthly progress reports.
  • Completing daily student communication updates.
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Part-Time English, French & Math Tutor Wanted

Eager to help students succeed in English, French and Math?

Gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning Cambridge Hespeler is currently seeking possible part-time teacher-tutor openings at our learning centre beginning in September. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language and math and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning must be available for the hours of 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Tuesday and Thursday shift availability is currently needed.

To teach students in grades 5-9, tutors must be very comfortable with all math skills through the high school level. A math screening assessment will be part of the intake process.

If applying to tutor students in JK-grade 4, please indicate this in your cover letter.

Your students will love working with you as you have a great sense of humour, boundless patience, empathy, as well as being competent and reliable.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. No relocation package is available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field

  • Ability to craft professional progress reports
