Job summary

The Chinook School Division is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students at Spring Creek Hutterian School, a colony school located about 50 km SW of Maple Creek.

This permanent, 0.50 FTE, part-time CUPE position starts November 10th or as soon as possible thereafter. An Educational Assistant certification or early childhood training is an asset, with a strong commitment to inclusive education and working with children.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant certification or early childhood training is an asset.
• Ability and experience in working with children.
• Physical ability to work with active students.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
• A positive and flexible attitude to change.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Demonstrates a commitment to truth and reconciliation.
• Demonstrates a commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Willingness to meet the health and hygiene needs of children as required.
• Work one on one with students and within a classroom setting.
• Based on needs of individual students, provide individual students with assistance in speech, motor, and language development and social and life skills.
• Work as part of a team in development and implementation of Individual Improvement Plan.
