Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dietary Aide for permanent part-time shifts 12:30pm to 6:30pm. The role supports resident dining, follows food-handling protocols, and contributes to a warm, nutritious service in our communities.

Responsibilities include meal preparation and service according to diets, maintaining clean dining and prep areas, and cooperating with infection control and quality standards. Valid Safe Food Handler certificate required.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Must be familiar with the correct procedure for service and handling of food.
• Ability to operate institutional cooking equipment (e.g., dishwasher, conveyor toaster, meat-slicer).
• Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Applicants must pass Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario) and Criminal Records Check (BC).

Responsibilities

• Following proper food handling techniques.
• Dates, labels, and stores food properly.
• Keeping work area clean and uncluttered, and completes scheduled cleaning duties.
• Maintaining cleanliness of floors in the food preparation, dish room, and storage areas.
• Supporting all aspects of optimal food service to meet residents' needs and standards.
• Assisting in the preparation of meals, serving meals and beverages according to diets and preferences.
• Taking orders for the first and second menu choices from residents by name and preference.
• Setting and clearing tables in dining rooms and sanitizing surfaces.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
