Job summary

NorWest Community Health Centres is seeking two permanent part-time Midwives at 0.5 FTE each to serve at Thunder Bay, Longlac, Armstrong, and Kakabeka sites. The role emphasizes disease prevention, health promotion, and patient education within a community-based model.

Qualifications

• General Registrant in good standing with the College of Midwives of Ontario and up-to-date QAP requirements.
• Active member of the Association of Ontario Midwives.
• Current NRP, FHS, CPR and Emergency Skills certifications.
• Minimum of five years’ midwifery experience including complex care.
• Ability to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care within informed choice.

Responsibilities

• Provide low-risk and complex prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
• Perform and evaluate NSTs, manage GDM, epidurals and labour induction/augmentation.
• Collaborate with teams across Thunder Bay and outreach sites; engage in community partnerships.
