Job summary

Conestoga College seeks qualified professionals to teach clinical courses part-time in the Bachelor of Science Nursing - Honours Program, fall and/or winter terms in Ontario. We welcome RNs in good standing with CNO and relevant clinical experience, preferably in long-term care or gerontology.

Successful candidates will teach 8–24 hours per week, and may work off-site at partner organizations in the Kitchener-Waterloo-C Cambridge-Guelph region.

Qualifications

• BScN required; master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
• Current RN registration in good standing with CNO.
• Minimum four years of clinical nursing experience in relevant settings.
• Experience teaching, precepting, or supervising nursing students is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with teams; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical instruction, supervision, and evaluation of BScN students.
• Integrate theory, evidence-informed practice, and clinical reasoning in the clinical setting.
• Ensure learning outcomes, expectations, and evaluation processes are clearly communicated.

The School of Health & Life Sciences is seeking qualified professionals to teach clinical courses part-time in our Bachelor of Science Nursing - Honours Program for the fall (October to December) and/or winter (January to April) terms. We welcome applications from qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) with current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and relevant clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, gerontology, or related practice settings.

Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work off-site at our associated partner organizations within the Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph region. Conestoga offers classes Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Courses are primarily delivered in person in accordance with our academic calendar . Part-time clinical instructors typically teach one to two clinical groups. Clinical contracts are approximately 8-24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical instruction, supervision, and evaluation of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) students in long-term care and related practice settings
• Facilitate student learning by integrating nursing theory, evidence-informed practice, clinical reasoning, and professional standards into the clinical environment
• Ensure students are aware of clinical learning outcomes, expectations, evaluation processes, and professional responsibilities
• Monitor, assess, and evaluate student performance and achievement in accordance with program and course requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and records
• Provide timely feedback, coaching, and mentorship to support student learning, professional growth, and clinical competence
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that respects the diversity of students' cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning needs
• Promote safe, ethical, and professional nursing practice consistent with regulatory, organizational, and college expectations
• Collaborate effectively with clinical partners, faculty, program coordinators, and college staff to support student success and quality clinical learning experiences
• Utilize educational technologies, including eConestoga (D2L), to access course materials, communicate with students, and complete required documentation
• Participate in program, department, and college initiatives that support academic excellence, continuous quality improvement, and student success

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is required; master's degree in nursing or a related field is preferred
• Current registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Minimum four years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, gerontological nursing, seniors' care, rehabilitation, complex continuing care, or related practice settings
• Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing practice, professional standards, and evidence-informed care
• Previous experience teaching, preceptoring, mentoring, or supervising nursing students is preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with students, clinical partners, faculty, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Experience using computer applications such as Microsoft Office and learning management systems (e.g., D2L/eConestoga) is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within an academic and clinical environment
• Commitment to student success, academic excellence, and continuous quality improvement in nursing education
• Completion of a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check and up-to-date immunization records are required

Compensation is determined using a standardized wage calculation that considers education, relevant industry experience, and teaching experience. Part-Time Instructors are paid an hourly rate based on Teaching Contact Hours. This rate is inclusive of all academic responsibilities. The posted hourly rate represents an estimated range. Successful candidates will receive an individualized wage calculation at the time of offer.
