Job summary

BGC Okanagan is hiring a part-time Program Leader to support our School Age Childcare program at multiple clubs in Kelowna and West Kelowna, BC. It is the best place for kids to be when the bell rings! For over 60 years, we have been creating safe, engaging spaces where children can play, create, and connect after school.

Hours are 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm, at a rate of $21.02 per hour. Applicants should have childcare education or related experience, First Aid, Food Safe, and a

Qualifications

• Education in childcare and related program planning experience.
• First Aid and Food Safe certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Criminal record check and agency screening completed.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and participate in diverse recreational, social, and educational programming.
• Orient new families to the program and club.
• Provide direct supervision ensuring health and safety.
• Mentor Activity Leaders within the program and activities.
• Build relationships with children and families and communicate with caregivers.
• Use Club vans to transport members as needed.
• Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for members.
• Support behavior management and safety policies.
