Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic First Aid certificate.
• Post-secondary education in Recreation, Childcare, or related credentials.
• Responsible Adult Certification (20 hours) completed.
• 3+ years of related childcare experience.
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
• Experience managing a variety of children’s behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the After School Care Program complies with hygiene, health and safety and safeguarding regulations.
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate play in a safe, caring environment for children.
• Maintain our timeline for collecting and transporting students from classrooms to after school care spaces.
• Maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with our teachers.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting related to enrolment, behaviour, and incidents.
• Monitor resources to ensure the program runs efficiently.
• Direct interaction with students one-on-one and in groups.
• Engage actively with small or large groups using provided activities.
• Collaborate with the after-school care team to ensure smooth operations.
