Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) is seeking part-time academic faculty (instructors) to deliver courses in our case-based curriculum. Instructors will lead learning activities and assessments in a classroom environment, bringing expertise to courses such as Naturopathic History, ND obligations, and Social Determinants of Health.

Part Time Academic Faculty (Instructor) (CCNM - Boucher Campus)

We are currently looking for several highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced faculty to work with us as Instructors for various subjects within the case-based curriculum. The instructor is responsible for delivering the subject as listed below to students, including the learning activities, and assessments in a classroom environment.

  • ANM 100 Naturopathic History - Sept 15 and 22, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • ND obligations, responsibilities and opportunities - Nov 10, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Social Determinants of Health - Nov 17, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Planetary Health - Nov 24, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. ND License, In-person training
  • ANM 200 Every second Friday, starting Sept 11 – 1 - 4 p.m. ND License, In-person training

Instructors will use active learning to address topics in areas such as health systems and regulation, history and philosophy, ways of knowing, models of practice, professional success, and anti-oppression.

  • Instruction opportunities: Two (2) years of teaching experience and five (5) years of clinical experience is an asset
  • Clinical experience with an interest in the respective course will be considered an asset
  • Teaching experience with adult learners, particularly using online learning platforms (Moodle) is an asset
Education
  • Health-care professional registered in the province of BC (ND, DC, MD, etc.)
  • The ideal candidate will possess a Masters or PhD in related topics
  • Training in teaching methodology, curriculum design, and evaluation at a post-secondary level is an asset
  • Note additional qualifications will be course dependent
Skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and facilitation skills with the ability to motivate and engage students
  • Excellent organization, analytical, research and time management skills
  • Established research publication record is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with students and colleagues
  • Positive, demonstrated commitment to student success
