Associate Dean, Health Sciences & Human Services

Salary:

$45.60 - $56.75/hour, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits on regular earnings, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day. Employees are also eligible to contribute to the College Pension Plan, with matching contributions from the employer.

Description:

NLC's Health Sciences programs requires temporary, relief instructors to teach courses across the Health Care Assistant, Access to Practical Nursing, or Practice Nursing programs. Course topics may include communications, professional practice, health promotions, variations, pharmacology, integrated practice, or consolidated practice.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Diploma in Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Current practicing license as an LPN, RPN, RN or NP with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives with no limits or conditions or another relevant professional license.
  • Minimum three to five years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian nursing experience.
  • Completed course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member.
  • Committed to student motivation and achievement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Preferred:

  • Teaching experience as a nurse or health care professional.
  • A credential in adult education, such as the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or equivalent, or a willingness to enroll with an identified completion date.
