Job summary

The Town of Caledon is seeking Parks Maintenance TFTs to support the upkeep of public parks, recreational areas and green spaces. You will perform landscaping tasks, assist with facilities upkeep, and deliver friendly service to park visitors.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, are comfortable with physical outdoor work, can operate lawnmowers and trimmers, and work well in a team while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Landscape Technician education an asset.
• Experience in outdoor recreation, landscaping or park maintenance preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain basic park equipment and follow safety guidelines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to solve problems on the job.

Responsibilities

• Oversee park maintenance: grass cutting, shrub bed maintenance, plant watering.
• Assist with upkeep of facilities (restrooms, benches, picnic areas, playgrounds).
• Patrol park areas; report vandalism or safety concerns.
• Maintain walking trails, bike paths and other park infrastructure.
• Operate and maintain basic equipment: mowers, trimmers, hand tools.
• Assist with setup/cleanup of special events; provide information to visitors.
