Job summary

The City of Hamilton is seeking a Parking Maintenance ServicePerson to support the safe operation of municipal parking facilities. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on lots, garages, signs, and related infrastructure, indoors and outdoors year-round.

The role requires manual dexterity, ability to operate trucks, sweepers, snow blowers, and power tools, and a valid Class G driver's licence. Join a team committed to service excellence and public safety.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in electrical, plumbing, building and general maintenance via work experience or training.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, snow-clearing equipment and small machinery safely.
Strong problem-solving, good judgment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must have a valid Class G driver’s licence and operate service vehicles safely.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventative maintenance on parking infrastructure and related equipment.
Conduct minor repairs on fixtures, fences, guardrails, bollards, posts and signs.
Paint parking stall markings and surface markings according to standards.
Install and repair posts, guardrails, bollards, and traffic signs for safety and compliance.
Complete minor electrical work and basic plumbing within kiosks and parking structures.
Ensure building maintenance on walls, pipes and surfaces as needed.
Operate trucks, sweepers, snow blowers and other equipment for winter and outdoor tasks.
Complete written logs and work orders for asset management and maintenance tracking.
