Hitachi Energy Canada has an opening for a paralegal. Reporting to the Country Head of Legal and Integrity, the individual will be responsible for providing legal and administrative support to the legal and integrity department.
How you’ll make an impact
Provide support to the legal team by drafting, reviewing, and/or editing a variety of contracts and documents against Hitachi Energy's standard templates and policies, including drafting and reviewing non-disclosure agreements, supply contracts and communications with clients and suppliers;
Participate in the development, implementation and updating of various contract templates, reference documents, training and databases, and contribute to the improvement of internal processes;
Participate in the implementation of Hitachi Energy’s integrity program in Canada by providing integrity trainings as needed from time to time and ensure that new integrity guidelines are communicated and implemented;
Participate in the approval process, investigation and reporting of integrity issues or questions that are raised within the company;
Maintain the corporate records of the company and ensure maintenance of licenses, permits and authorizations (e.g. AMP, CMEQ) as required for the company to operate
Attend board meetings and prepare minutes of meetings, resolutions, power of attorney and other corporate documents;
Your background
D.E.C legal technical (or equivalent) or law degree.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a company or a law firm.
Proactive attitude and effective priority management skills.
Agile in the use of MS Office (Power Point, Excel, Outlook) and can work with PDF documents;
Autonomy, good judgment, organizational skills and attention to details;
Team spirit and positive attitude;
Bilingual (French and English), both orally and in writing
