Job summary

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation in Calgary, AB is seeking a Painter I for our lockers manufacturing plant. The role is entry level and requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to exceed targets.

You will work under supervision with a focus on timely, safe production and color-changing tasks. You will learn about different locker parts, sizes, gauges, and colors while following the paint line schedule, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean, safe

Qualifications

  • 0–1 years or more increasing responsibility
  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Able to follow Standard Work Instruction for all tasks expected to perform
  • Must be flexible to work extra hours during weekdays and weekends
  • Demonstrates some leadership skills through informal coaching and teaching others
  • Ability, willing, and motivated to lead and mentor co-workers in the future

Responsibilities

  • Works under direct supervision to ensure daily productivity targets are met safely.
  • Demonstrate positive and safe workplace behavior and work as a team to achieve daily targets.
  • Completes tasks by following the Paint line schedule.
  • Assist in loading/off-loading lockers parts per safe procedures.
  • Develop understanding of lockers parts, sizes, gauges and colors.
  • Assist in color change, perform quality checks and stack painted material safely.
  • Keep Paint line area clean and organized.
  • Assist in periodic cleaning of Paint Booth, Oven, and Paint line area.
  • Comply with EHS guidelines and PPE use on shop floor.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and lift 5–20 lbs for 8–10 hour shifts.
  • Contribute to team by sharing best practices and cross-training.
  • Desire to train in other departments.

Job Summary:

We are looking to fill "Painter I" position for our lockers manufacturing plant located in Calgary, AB. The Painter I is an entry level position responsible for successfully completing various tasks within Paint Line area. Preferably well familiar and able has some knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. The Painter I must be detail-oriented, possess a strong work ethic, display a contagious ability to motivate coworkers, successfully meet the daily goal requirements, and fearless attitude on exceeding company targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works under direct supervision of Supervisor/ lead hand to ensure that daily productivity targets are met in a timely and safe manner.
  • Demonstrate positive and safe workplace behavior at all times and work as a team in the achievement of daily production targets.
  • Completes a variety of tasks by following the Paint line daily schedule.
  • Assist in Loading/ off loading the lockers parts in accordance with established safe procedures.
  • Develop better understanding on different lockers parts, sizes, gauges and colors.
  • Assist in color change, perform quality check and stacking the painted material safely.
  • Keep the Paint line area cluster free and organize the hooks after the completion of each paint job run.
  • Assist in periodic cleaning of Paint Booth, Oven, and Paint line area.
  • Comply with company’s EHS guidelines and ensure all required PPE are used while working on the shop floor.
  • Focuses on learning tasks and ensuring quality at all times.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and handle material up to 5-20 Lbs. for an 8-10 hour shift.
  • Contributes to the overall functioning of the team by maintaining awareness of best practices/emerging issues, both internally and externally, sharing best practices and building effective working relationships across the team and company.
  • Strong desire to train in any/all departments.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.
