Job Description

The Zurn Elkay Business Systems (ZEBS) Manager leads and manages continuous improvement projects in order to accomplish measurable business process improvements; employs Lean Manufacturing methodology and analytics into organizational operations in order to accomplish business objectives; and works with other functional leaders in the planning, designing, and accomplishing of key projects. This person will provide tactical/strategic implementation of all elements of the Zurn Elkay Business System encompassing practical application of lean operations, operational excellence and six sigma tools and processes across all aspects of the business. In this position, successful candidates will make immediate contributions through enhancing key business processes that add value to Our Customers, Our Shareholders, and Our Associates.

Focus will be on helping develop operations strategy for defining and executing optimization & footprint repositioning strategy. This role will play a key role in the process of gathering and analyzing information regarding single and multiple-plant ability to serve customers, profitability, cash flow and capital, capacity utilization and sourcing impact and opportunities. This individual will also consolidate and integrate information to develop and propose operations strategy while tracking and overseeing projects and action plans, providing work direction to multiple people across multiple groups or functions outside of the team, without direct reporting authority.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure successful definition and execution of large, cross-functional improvement initiatives tied to annual strategic priorities
  • Actively collaborate in front end analysis and planning with site leadership to define strategic operations plans
  • Utilize financial resources and ensure best solutions are defined and executed effectively
  • Analyze business performance metrics beyond direct labor cost and define strategies that improve overall costs and cash flow
  • Identify and propose solutions to minimize and manage resource constraints
  • Coordinate and track the monthly strategy deployment activities and initiatives in support of meeting Business Metrics, Annual Improvement Priorities (AIPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Drive best practices in all areas of responsibility
  • Educate, engage, and empower future leaders by creating and facilitating lean daily management training and development programs
  • Implement Lean processes in accordance with the organization’s Lean Implementation Plan (Standard Work, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, Kaizen and Pull Principles)
  • Oversee organizational participation in lean initiatives to achieve ZEBS metrics
  • Drive associate participation (including process experts) in Lean initiatives. Institutionalize problem solving tools to address and resolve problems
  • Identify and share best practices across the different Zurn Elkay locations.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree; Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain preferred
  • 5 -7 years of experience in direct plant, manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics leadership that includes defining, executing and stabilizing major improvements.
  • Travel up to 50%
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

The expected base salary range for this position is $$112,617 and $154,849 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The compensation range(s) identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on compensable factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training, and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
