Job summary

Ebco Industries, Ltd. in Richmond, BC, seeks a hands-on Painter to apply industrial coatings to steel and metal components. You will perform masking, surface prep, sandblast as required and ensure finished work meets quality and safety standards.

This is a physically demanding role with rotating shifts and the need to wear steel-toed boots. Ideal candidates have Grade 12, 5+ years of industrial painting experience, and are comfortable operating cranes and forklifts.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience in Industrial Painting (steel and other metals).
  • Experience operating overhead bridge cranes is asset.
  • Experience using Forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Masking;
  • Preparing pieces for paint and /some sandblast as required;
  • Painting;
  • Other related duties as assigned by the manager or foreman.

Positions Summary

The Painter is a hands-on production role responsible for preparing and applying industrial coatings to steel and metal components across a variety of manufacturing projects. Working within Ebco's Painting Division, you will carry out masking, surface preparation, sandblasting, and painting tasks to a high standard, ensuring finished products meet quality and safety requirements.

This is a physically demanding role suited to an experienced industrial painter who can work independently, follow direction, and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment with rotating shifts.

Qualifications And Experience
  • Must-Haves:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 5+ experience in Industrial Painting (steel and other metals)
  • Experience operating overhead bridge cranes is considered an asset.
  • Experience using Forklift
Responsibilities
  • Masking;

  • Other related duties as assigned by the manager or foreman.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Working knowledge of safe working practices (i.e. with solvents) and WHMIS Regulations.
  • Good communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Must be able to use all equipment safely.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding position and lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to take direction and carry out work independently.
Special Requirements
  • This is a physically demanding position and working at heights may be required.
  • Must be flexible with shifts (night, day and evenings).
  • Must have steel toed safety boots and coveralls to start.

We offer competitive wages ($39.07-$41.67/hr) and comprehensive benefits. Remuneration and benefits plan as per Ebco and Ironworker's Local 712 Collective Agreement.
