Job summary

Successful applicants must become members of the United Association union local 527 as a Metal Trades Worker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate spray equipment using conventional, airless, and plural methods.
  • Prepare materials for spray application, including masking, sanding, and cleaning.
  • Read and interpret drawings and dimensions.
  • Follow coating technical data sheet specifications.
  • Use wet film and dry film gauges accurately.
  • Maintain familiarity with various coatings such as zincs, epoxies, polyurethanes, etc.
  • Operate hand and power tools of all types.
  • Handle materials with forklifts, overhead cranes, buggies, and carts.
  • Receive and identify incoming materials.
  • Clean and prepare shop areas.
  • Assist other craft workers as needed.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, with training provided by Aecon.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Fall Arrest certification is an asset.
  • WHMIS Certification is an asset.
  • Overhead Crane Training is an asset.
  • Forklift Training is an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work on stairs and ladders.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when required, occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions.
