Job summary

ServiceMaster Restore of North Vancouver Island is hiring an experienced Painter to join our team in North Vancouver Island. You will paint interior and exterior surfaces, select paints and finishes, and prepare surfaces for a high-quality finish across varied projects.

We offer training, mentorship, and opportunities for advancement, with a focus on safety and professional conduct in customers' homes and businesses.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of painting experience required.
• Residential and/or commercial painting experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reliable, professional, and adaptable to varied tasks.

Responsibilities

• Paint interior and exterior surfaces using appropriate tools and finishes.
• Prepare surfaces, patch and caulk as needed for a professional finish.
• Protect fixtures, flooring and surroundings during work.
• Ensure clean, organized and safe worksites.
• Complete touch-ups and final detailing on projects.
• Assist with other restoration tasks as required.

What You'll Do

• Use a variety of tools to paint interior and exterior surfaces
• Select the correct paints, primers, and finishes for each application
• Cover and protect exposed objects, flooring, and surfaces
• Prepare walls, ceilings, trim, and other surfaces for painting
• Mix and apply paints, varnishes, stains, primers, and sealants
• Use fillers such as putty and plaster to repair cracks, holes, and other defects
• Sand, patch, caulk, and prepare surfaces to achieve a professional finish
• Complete touch‑ups and finishing work
• Keep tools, equipment, and worksites clean and organized
• Work professionally and respectfully in customers' homes and businesses
• Assist with other restoration and reconstruction tasks as required

What We're Looking For

• 2 to 3 years of painting experience
• Experience painting residential and/or commercial spaces
• Strong attention to detail
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, professional, and committed to quality workmanship
• Valid driver's licence
• Must be adaptable, as other responsibilities and tasks may arise
