Responsibilities

• Perform finishing and touch-ups to meet project specifications and timelines.
• Read and follow work orders and project specifications; maintain tools and equipment.
• Keep job sites clean and safe; comply with safety standards and company policies.
• Communicate progress with supervisors and collaborate with team members throughout the project.

Role Description

This full-time Painter role is an on-site position based in Fredericton, NB. The Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and masking areas according to project requirements and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include applying primers, paints, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, and performing detailed finishing and touch-ups on interior and exterior surfaces. The role involves reading work orders, following specifications, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe job site. The Painter collaborates with team members, communicates with supervisors about project progress, and adheres to company quality standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Paint selection, including understanding of different paint types and finishes.
• Proficiency in Painting and Decorating for residential and commercial interiors and exteriors.
• Knowledge of Coatings and their proper application for durability and protection.
• Hands-on experience in Painting using brushes and rollers, with attention to detail and clean lines.
• Capability in Spray Painting, including safe operation and maintenance of spray equipment.
• Familiarity with surface preparation techniques and basic repair of drywall, wood, and other substrates.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, including working at heights and using personal protective equipment.
• Reliable transportation to job sites in and around Fredericton, NB.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Previous professional painting or trades experience is an asset; relevant certifications or apprenticeship training are beneficial.
