Job summary

Mainstreet Equity Corporation is seeking a Painter in Surrey, BC to paint interior and exterior surfaces of residential apartment buildings and to prepare units for lease. You will estimate materials, match colors, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

With a minimum of two years’ painting experience, you will work with a supervisor to achieve precise finishes, adhere to PPE rules, and support other trades as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least 2 years of work experience as a painter.
• Comfortable using tools, equipment, ladders, and chemicals as required.
• Follows PPE requirements and environmental codes.

Responsibilities

• Paint the interior and exterior of residential apartment buildings
• Estimate quantities of painting materials and supplies
• Prepare and match specified colors and coordinate with Supervisor
• Prepare surfaces prior to painting
• Protect areas and ensure no paint damage to properties
• Maintain a clean work environment during painting
• Ensure units are prepared for lease in a timely manner
• Maintain site safety and equipment in good condition
• Assist other team members and trades as required

The Company

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:

• Paint the interior and exterior of residential apartment buildings
• Estimate quantities of painting materials and supplies required by measuring surfaces or reviewing work orders
• Prepare and match specified colors. Discuss painting needs and color matching problems with Supervisor to ensure perfection
• Prepare surfaces prior to painting
• Follow established protection procedures and prepare work area to ensure no paint gets on other surfaces and no company properties or tenants' properties get damaged
• Maintain a clean work environment during painting.
• Ensure that work orders are completed and units are prepared for lease within a timely manner.
• Ensures site safety, maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Assist other Team members and Trades persons as required

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must possess at least 2 years of work experience as a painter
• Comfortable to use different tools, equipment, ladders, chemicals etc. that are required to perform the job
• Aware of product changes and recommends product upgrades
• Follows all environmental codes and practices and conform to applicable legislation
• Must follow proper PPE requirements
• Flexible to work regular work hours and weekends/ after hour emergencies when required
• Must possess valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to use at work
• Must successfully complete a security clearance
