SALARY RANGE: $17.00 to $24.00 per hour

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE: including 4/10-hour shifts and 5/8-hour shifts with flexible start times

As a Painter, your primary responsibility will be operating or tending painting machines. 95% of your time will be in the paint booth, spraying the surfaces of the concrete mixing drums and other components we build. Your work will be supported by our paint prep and sandblasting team members.

What does a Painter do at SpecSys?

• Pour paint into spray gun and spray specified amount of primer or finish coatings onto prepared surfaces
• Select paint according to company requirements and match colors of paint following specified color charts
• Regulate controls on portable ventilators and exhaust units to cure and dry paint or other coatings
• Strip grease, dirt, paint and rust from projects, using abrasives, solvents, brushes and sandblaster
• Set up portable ventilators, exhaust units, ladders and scaffolding
• Operate lifting and moving devices to move equipment or materials to access areas to be painted
• Disassemble sprayer and power equipment, such as sandblaster and clean equipment and hand tools, using solvents, wire brushes and cloths
• Mix, stir and thin paint or other coatings, using spatula or power mixing equipment

What are we looking for in a quality Painter candidate?

• Industrial painting experience (preferred)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to bend, crawl and be on feet for 8 plus hours per workday
• Auto Body degree (preferred)
• Or any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance
