Job summary

Brandt Industries Canada Ltd is seeking a dedicated painter to join our team in Regina. The role involves painting, prepping, and keeping work cells clean, while ensuring safety and high quality. You will train other painters, read process sheets, and assist the foreman as needed.

You will work under minimal supervision in a dynamic shop environment, with responsibilities spanning from organizing work to reporting damaged goods and maintaining tool inventories.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to paint with electrostatic paint guns and conventional pot guns.
  • Must understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Has knowledge of proper maintenance of equipment under this classification.
  • Familiar with most painting jobs and operations.
  • Capable of working under minimum supervision.
  • Familiar with shop tools related to the job.
  • Knowledgeable about workplace safety and safe lifting/handling procedures.
  • Able to communicate clearly with staff and management.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with business units and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all work cells are clean and free from debris so the shop is tour ready.
  • Train and assist painters to improve quality and efficiencies.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed and adhered to.
  • Inspect parts for quality and help employees achieve top quality products.
  • Spot check on parts to ensure a clean finish to products.
  • Read and understand process sheets, drawings and setup instructions.
  • Maintain the tool boards and their inventory.
  • Support foreman as required.
  • Accurately fill out process sheets and count number of pieces completed.
  • Report damaged goods and scrap to supervisor.
  • Know material sizes and specifications of the product.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Reports all damaged goods and or scrap to supervisor.
  • Knows material sizes and specifications of product being worked on.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We Look For

  • Is familiar with and has understanding of most painting jobs and operations.

  • Must be familiar with all shop tools related to the job.
  • Knowledgeable in workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Able to effectively communicate in both technical and user-friendly language when appropriate, with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
