Broad Objectives:
To lead paint operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety while fostering team growth through mentorship and participation in leadership development programs.
Job Responsibilities:
Production Oversight
- Coordinate and manage all painting activities to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
- Monitor workflow to meet daily and weekly production goals.
- Allocate manpower effectively to optimize productivity.
Quality Control
- Ensure that paint finishes meet required specifications and visual standards.
- Conduct inspections and enforce corrective actions for defects or process deviations.
- Maintain proper records of inspections, reworks, and paint usage.
Team Leadership and Training
- Supervise, coach, and mentor the paint team staff.
- Schedule shifts, approve timecards, and manage attendance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Enforce compliance with safety policies and hazardous materials handling (e.g., paints, thinners).
- Conduct regular safety audits and provide training on PPE and emergency procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Process Improvement
- Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in painting processes and recommend improvements.
- Implement lean manufacturing or 5S initiatives in the paint department.
- Collaborate with other departments (production, maintenance, engineering) to improve outcomes.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor inventory of paints, coatings, and supplies to ensure availability without overstocking.
- Oversee maintenance and calibration of spray equipment, booths, and ventilation systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Effective communication skills
· Understanding of manufacturing, processing, and production
· 3–5 years of experience in industrial painting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
· Strong knowledge of paint systems, application methods, and safety regulations
· Proven leadership, team coordination, and conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to read technical drawings and follow paint specifications.
· Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting production deadlines.
· Familiar with lean manufacturing principles and basic ERP or production software.
