Job description

SUMMARY

Participate and contribute to effective production efficiency by packing vinyl products according to customer specifications, recognizing and removing any defective product and ensuring that packaging is properly sealed for transportation.

COMPETITIVE HOURLY RATE, NIGHT SHIFT PREMIUM & ADDITIONAL INCENTIVES UPON HIRE

PAY RATE: $21.61/HR

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 12 HOUR ROTATING CONTINENTAL SHIFTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Pack vinyl products as they become available from one extrusion/injection line as per specifications manual.
  2. Recognize, remove and/or report defective product and equipment.
  3. Prepare packaging for shipment and transportation (pre-glue boxes, interlock product and insert into boxes, ensure boxes are clear of vinyl punch slugs, glue and staple end caps to boxes and ensure end flap is flush and square, use correct number of staples in the correct location).
  4. Maintain piece counts and ensure the correct number of completed cartons are stacked for crating.
  5. Ensure proper closure of cartons and transport them to the adjacent bed or skid.
  6. Keep working area free of scrap and maintain workplace safety.
  7. Monitor cartons and end caps for correct size and report discrepancies to the Shift Supervisor.
  8. Participate in mid and year-end inventory counts if required.
  9. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, as applicable.
  10. Perform other duties as required by the Shift Supervisor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must be able to work 12 hour Continental shift.
  2. Must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
  3. Previous manufacturing experience is an asset but not a requirement.
  4. Good communication skills.
  5. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
  6. Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  7. Must have a good working knowledge of the packing process.
  8. Must be comfortable using air-operated equipment and able to lift production materials.
