Job summary

The Shaw Group Limited in Canada is seeking a General Labourer for its Hardwoodlands, NS packaging plant. You will operate automated packaging equipment, perform quality control and assist with site maintenance and daily communications with the Site Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Commitment to a safe work culture.
• Self-motivated with ability to work unsupervised and provide leadership.
• Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem solving.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Forklift and front end loader experience is an asset.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more as required.

Responsibilities

• Use automated equipment to package and palletize product.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Carry out facility maintenance as directed by Site Supervisor.
• Quality control testing on products.
• Communicate with incoming and outgoing crews on plant operation.
• Report issues regarding quality, safety, maintenance and production to Site Supervisor.
• Maintain all levels of communication, such as production logs and verbal updates.
• Fill in as Packaging Line Operator when needed.
• Safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.
