Job summary

Grain Millers, Inc. in Yorkton, SK is seeking a Retail Packaging Operator to support our production floor. You will operate automated bagging lines, case packers, palletizers, and perform quality checks to ensure accurate packaging of high-quality products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience operating complex packaging equipment and working in food manufacturing is an asset.
• Must be comfortable with computers and handheld scanners.
• Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
• Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Saskatchewan forklift operator certificate.
• Excellent communication and math skills.
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and nights.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of packaging equipment including: automated bagging lines, case packers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, ink jet labelers, check weighers, metal detectors, and screeners.
• Monitor and test processes at metal detector critical control points.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and interpret equipment control screens.
• Set up and calibrate lines for different products, ensure packaging materials are stocked, and perform quality seal and coding checks.
• Use the Wow inventory system and handheld scanners to track production and update orders.
• Complete daily documentation including production logs, packaging summaries, Galileo duty logs, and packing instructions.
• Maintain FIFO procedures and assist with inventory counts.
• Support sanitation efforts and follow all food safety guidelines.
