Job summary

Labatt Breweries of Canada is offering a 15-week Packaging Intern internship at the Halifax Brewery, working five days a week on-site. The program provides hands-on experience with a focus on packaging improvements, safety, quality, and sustainability, plus opportunities to join future full-time or trainee programs after graduation.

The role targets 2nd/3rd‑year undergrads in engineering or business, with graduation expected in 2027 or later, and requires eligibility to work in Canada.

Qualifications

  • In their 2nd or 3rd year of an undergrad degree (engineering, business or related).
  • Returning to school in September 2027.
  • Graduating in December 2027 or later.
  • Bilingualism is an asset (Quebec)
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Legal drinking age where applicable
  • Willingness to relocate across Canada for future roles

Responsibilities

  • Lead a strategic packaging improvement project focused on enhanced operational performance, process efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with managers, production teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders to understand supply chain, manufacturing, and 24/7 brewery ops.
  • Analyze operational challenges and partner with experienced professionals to identify solutions and improve processes.
  • Develop leadership skills through team management exposure in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Build expertise in safety, quality, and sustainable packaging practices, including returnable glass systems.

ROLE: Packaging Intern
LOCATION: Halifax Brewery, 5 days/week in office

SALARY: $25/Hour

INTERNSHIP SPECIFICATIONS
  • Lead a strategic packaging improvement project focused on enhancing operational performance, process efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with managers, production teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of supply chain, manufacturing, and 24/7 brewery operations.

  • Analyze operational challenges and partner with experienced manufacturing professionals to identify innovative solutions, improve processes, and support production performance.

  • Develop practical leadership skills through exposure to team management in a unionized manufacturing environment while working in a fast‑paced, results‑driven culture.

  • Build expertise in world‑class safety, quality, and sustainable packaging practices, including exposure to Canada’s returnable glass bottle system and related production processes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • In their 2nd or 3rdyear of an Undergraduate Bachelor’s degree, studying Engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial and electrical), Business, or a related field, and returning to school in September 2027.

  • Graduating in December 2027 or later

  • Bilingualism is an asset (Required in Quebec)

  • Can legally work in Canada

  • Of legal drinking age (18+ in AB, MN & QC and 19+ everywhere else)

  • Geographical & Functional mobility for your future Full‑time position is a requirement – open to experiencing different functions and locations across Canada
