Windsor Salt is hiring a Package Equipment Operator to join our Belle Plaine production facility. This role involves operating packaging lines and equipment to produce a wide range of salt products, with a strong commitment to safety and adherence to quality standards in a food-grade manufacturing environment.

A primary responsibility is to adhere to all FSQR and EHS programs, and to maintain a safe work environment for employees and visitors while driving continuous improvement in safety,

Formación

• High school diploma required; post-secondary education or certifications considered an asset.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or processing environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with automated equipment considered an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and understand Food Safety Process Controls and their impact on product quality.

Responsabilidades

• Operate bagger and ensure bags are properly filled and coded.
• Collaborate with the Forklift Operator to promote safety, quality, efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain production records and perform check-weighing of bags; adjust scales for accurate weights.
• Coordinate salt flow to the bagging station with the Mixer Operator.
• Follow the daily production schedule and GMP and FSQR programs; assist with inventory counts.

Job Summary

Windsor Salt is hiring a Package Equipment Operator to join our Belle Plaine production facility. This role involves operating various packaging lines and equipment to produce a wide range of salt products. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to quality standards in a food-grade manufacturing environment is essential.

A primary responsibility of this position is to adhere to all food safety, quality, safety and environmental regulations and programs. This includes the company, federal and state guidelines to ensure we provide a safe work environment for all employees and visitors and drive continuous improvement for all FSQR and EHS programs.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate bagger and ensure bags are properly filled and coded.
• Operate a forklift or collaborate with the Forklift Operator to promote safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Maintain production records and perform check-weighing of bags; adjust scales to ensure accurate weights.
• Deliver salt samples to the lab as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor maintenance on the bag packer and related equipment; assist maintenance personnel with repairs.
• Coordinate salt flow to the bagging station with the Mixer Operator.
• Ensure accurate coding of all bags.
• Follow the daily production schedule, including special products, codes, and palletizing requirements.
• Conduct or assist with monthly spare parts inventory cycle counts and quarterly package/materials inventory counts.
• Monitor and report on low inventory levels of packaging materials or ingredients to the Production Supervisor.
• Strictly adhere to GMP and Food Safety requirements; report all known defects and maintain high standards for product and package quality.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Mill Manager.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• High school diploma required; post-secondary education or certifications considered an asset.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or processing environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with automated and mobile equipment considered an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Understanding of Food Safety Process Controls and their impact on product quality, legality, and safety.
• Physical ability to stoop, twist, bend, reach, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 25 kg.

Environment

• Exposure to varied temperatures and salt dust.
• Must be able to wear all PPE, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses.
