Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Specialized Equipment Transport Driver based in Kimberley to move oversized and heavy machinery across the Northern Cape and beyond. The role requires expert operation of heavy-duty trucks and low-bed trailers with a sharp focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will plan complex routes, secure loads, perform pre- and post-trip checks, and maintain clear communication with clients and dispatch.

Qualifications

• Valid Code 14/EC1 license with PrDP and endorsements for heavy/abnormal loads.
• Extensive experience transporting heavy and oversized equipment.
• Proficiency operating specialized transport vehicles and securing techniques.
• Knowledge of routes and regulations across the Northern Cape and surrounding provinces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage logistical challenges independently.
• Physical fitness to work in challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks and specialized trailers (e.g., low-bed) for transporting oversized and heavy loads.
• Plan and execute complex routes, ensuring compliance with road regulations for abnormal loads.
• Secure and safely load/unload specialized equipment using appropriate methods and equipment.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections, maintenance checks, and post-trip reporting.
• Communicate effectively with clients, site personnel, and dispatch regarding transport logistics.
• Ensure all necessary permits and documentation for oversized loads are in order.
